A History of Living Boldly

Streams from the past that Shape our Present

Four Historic Streams:

  • Love and serve our neighbors
  • So that we are drawn to Christ, grafted into the Church, and experience God’s love.

The Question of Implementation

  • Where are the feet and the legs?
  • A culture shift
  • Top-Down Programmatic vs. From-the-middle Organic
  • Council's Support Plan

Why Have a Five Year Plan?

  • Provides - Vision of who we are and who we might become
  • Offers - Opportunity for Ministry in Coordinated Ways
  • Honors - the Gift Present in the Diocese
  • Creates - Opportunities to share both Authority and Responsibility

What the Plan is Not

  • The Plan is not created by a small group
  • The Plan is not "Marching Orders" for the Church Membership

What the Plan Is

  • Honoring our life together in this diocese
  • A way to imagine new ways of being
  • A meaningful way to honor ministries yet to be developed
  • A challenge

Living Boldly as a Diocese

  • You are the Diocese of Utah - Your Ministry Defines Who We Are!!
  • Imagine a Greater Future for the Episcopal Church in Utah!!

THE CHALLENGE

Live Boldly by accepting the abundance that is present with each of us, the Grace that surrounds each of us, and the Joy of Mission that comes to each of us through our service to one another and our Lord.
