Bishop Carolyn Tanner Irish was honored with an honorary alumna award presented by the University of Utah. She was honored for her 10 years of leadership as bishop of Utah and for her philanthropic activities, which includes support of the Carolyn Tanner Irish Humanities Building, named in honor of her passion for the humanities at the University of Utah. The building is expected to be completed in 2008.
