Episcopal Church Center of Utah to Feature Bookstore, Coffee and Wi-Fi

It's happening: a bookstore for progressive Christians and all others who seek a middle way on their spiritual journeys. The store will feature new and used books to serve thoughtful Christians and seekers in the areas of spirituality, Bible study, classical and contemporary theology, worship, prayer, and service for the sake of justice and peace. There will also be a special section for children's books, for ecumenical relations, for life in the parish, for Anglicana, art and gift items.

"Our focus," says the Rev. Jessica Hatch, "is to empower all persons who visit to find the insight and grace they need to live more faithfully in a complex world.

The question, "How shall we live?" confronts all people of conscience. We believe there is a need and a niche for a venue that invites all who seek, particularly those of Catholic, mainline Protestant and classic Evangelical traditions, to engage the question."

The store space faces onto the Commons area and features floor to ceiling glass on two sides. Inside, patrons will be able to access a secure wi-fi connection, enjoy a cup of coffee, and browse books, music and gifts. In warm weather, patrons may also sit outside at patio tables and enjoy the calming sound of the nearby fountain.

News about the bookstore and bookstore offerings will be featured in a special section of Living Boldly, a twice-monthly diocesan enewsletter.
