Summer at Camp Tuttle

Camp Tuttle Staff Looks Forward to 'Adventurous, Exciting, Wonderful Summer'

By Elmer "Pepsi" Downs

In the office recently, the directors of Camp Tuttle's summer program sat busily at our desks, doing several jobs to prepare for the summer.

I was typing away, trying to complete the 2007 staff manual, making corrections and changes from last year's edition. Melanie Lees was listening to phone messages, calling back dozens of people with questions about our program.

Melissa Lees was entering registrations into the database and filling out receipts. We had been doing this same routine for what seemed like an eternity, hour after hour in our lifeless office, day after day straining our eyes at our computers.

I let out a sigh. "I can't wait for trip camp so we can go rafting down the Colorado River and hike in Arches."

Melissa nodded in agreement. "I can't wait to hang out with the kids at camp. I love sitting in the lodge playing games and having fun on the ropes course."

"What about our bike ride with the high school campers in Park City?" Melanie added. "That's one of my favorite days of the summer." The three of us sat reminiscing about the past few years, and anticipating the excitement of the 2007 season. The only cure for our office blues is talking about what fun we have when we're at camp.

Today, Melissa assures us that there is still plenty of room in all of our sessions. Melanie is ready at the phone to answer any questions you may have prior to the start of our season. And as I keep editing our weekly schedules, I can guarantee that this is going to be an adventurous, exciting, wonderful summer.
We hope you will join us!
