Coffee Hour — What's Perkin' in the Parishes
Centering Prayer is a method of responding to God's invitation to enter into a deeper and more intimate relationship with God. It prepares us to be open and available to God's action and presence in our lives.
This form of prayer is drawn from the ancient prayer practices of our Christian contemplative heritage, notably the Desert Fathers and Mothers, The Cloud of Unknowing and the monastic practice of Lectio Divina.
A six hour Introductory Workshop will be offered at St. Mark's Cathedral, 231 East 100 South, Salt Lake City on Saturday, June 23. It will run from 10 am to 4 pm. The $10 registration fee includes lunch.
The workshop will be led by the Rev. Canon Diana Johnson, a practitioner and certified facilitator of Centering Prayer. Please call the Cathedral at 322-3400 to register. The deadline is Wednesday, June 20.
