What's Perkin' in the Parishes

All Saints, Salt Lake City, is featured in the Historic Episcopal Churches Engagement Calendar for 2007. The calendar is always popular with church history buffs. It is available for $15.95 plus 10 percent postage and handling from National Episcopal Historians and Archivists, 509 Yale Ave., Swarthmore, PA 19081.

A light has been installed on the new cross at St. Michael's Church, Brigham City.

A car wash to raise funds for junior and senior high groups at St. James, Midvale, was held Sept. 10. The senior high back to school brunch was held the same day.

Members of St. Paul's, Vernal, and St. Elizabeth's, Whiterocks, gathered for worship and a picnic on Sept. 17.

An ecumenical workshop on Active Non-Violence will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Eliot Hall, First Unitarian Church, presented by facilitators who were trained by the Fellowship of Reconciliation. Registration is $10, lunch included. Space is limited. Blessing of the Animals will be held on Oct. 7 by St. John's Logan. The event is planned in conjunction with the Cache Humane Society and Four Paws Rescue.

St. Mark's Cathedral will sponsor the second in a series of workshops on Aging and End-of-Life Care, "Future Shock...Being Prepared for the Next Phase of Life."
This program presented by experts in the field of aging will include topics addressing wills and trusts, powers of attorney, longterm care, elder fraud, selecting a nursing home, funeral planning, and communicating final wishes. Time is allotted to address your specific questions and issues. Leaders will include Kim McGregor, attorney with Dart, Adamson & Donovan, Joan Gallegos, Retired Executive Director, Utah Health Care Association & Deb Burcombe, Legislative Analyst, Utah Health Care Association.
The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at St Paul's Church. Cost is $10, or $15 per couple. Please preregister at St Mark's Cathedral Office, 801-322-3400 or email: stmark@stmarkscathedral-ut.org
