Connecting with each other, our communities and the world

Easter Week Greetings! April 12, 2007

SPRING

NOTHING is so beautiful as spring --
When weeds, in wheels, shoot long and lovely and lush;
Thrush's eggs look little low heavens, and thrush
Through the echoing timber does so rinse and wring
The ear, it strikes like lightnings to hear him sing;
The glassy peartree leaves and blooms, they brush
The descending blue; that blue is all in a rush
With richness; the racing lambs too have fair their fling.
What is all this juice and all this joy?
A strain of the earth's sweet being in the beginning
In Eden garden. -- Have, get, before it cloy,
Before it cloud, Christ, lord, and sour with sinning,
Innocent mind and Mayday in girl and boy,
Most, O maid's child, thy choice and worthy the winning.

A Special Note

Lee Shaw, Rector of St. Stephen's, invites your compassionate discernment:

I have a member of St. Stephen's who desperately needs a kidney transplant. She is Tracy Harman Jensen and she has been ill for some time. She had hoped her father would be able to be a donor, but due to his own health this is no longer possible. She has no blood relatives who are good matches for her.

Would you please announce that if anyone is interested in being tested as a donor to call her at 282-0595. She has given me permission to ask for your assistance and to give her phone number.

Tracy is a faithful member of St. Stephen's and was part of the parish search committee. She is married and has one teenage daughter. She has had several health problems and this is the most serious.

If any in your parish would be willing to be considered it will be greatly appreciated. This is a matter of life and death.

Thank you and blessing for a Joyous Eastertide.

Lee Shaw
