For the Anglican Communion
Holy and gracious God, you cast your net of love so wide and gather us from the ends of the earth: So bless and guide our Anglican Communion that we may be held fast in the bonds of our affection for one another and in our love and service of you, through our Savior, Jesus Christ, who with you and the Holy Spirit reigns now and forever. Amen.

We explored the church's view of sexuality; the current debate(s) in the church about sexual issues; the biology of sexuality; the spirituality and psychology of sexuality; what holy scripture says about sexuality; and the ethics of sexuality including pleasure as gift and grace. We also heard from guest speakers from Integrity. An overarching theme of this class was to look at sex as sacrament." Good reading to bone up on the Jamestown Settlement: Jamestown, The Buried Truth by William M. Kelso. Kelso tells what archaeologists, led by Kelso, have unearthed recently at the site of the 400 year old James Fort, long thought to have washed away into the James River. What they have found in uncovering the structure of the fort and some 500,000 objects paints a revealing picture of the lives and deaths of these early settlers. Commemoration. Captain John Smith: Writings : With Other Narratives of Roanoke, Jamestown, and the First English Settlement of America is a collection which provides primary source material written by the leader of the first settlement at Jamestown. It is from these writings that the story of Pocahontas arises.

Savage Kingdom by Benjamin Woolley and The Jamestown Project by Karen Ordahl Kupperman. See reviews by Jon Meacham at LA Times.

It is a life-long journey of discipleship. It's about time we decided to take this Gospel of Jesus Christ seriously, for our sake and for the sake of the world."
