Lay Worship Leaders from across the Diocese of Utah gathered August 29 for a day of continuing education and formation led by Milner Seifert, liturgist and instructor for Bexley Seabury Seminary’s Lay Worship Leader training.
The workshop brought together licensed Lay Worship Leaders, deacons, and others interested in exploring this ministry. Participants spent the day digging deeper into the theology and practice of Episcopal worship, the role of lay people in leading worship in the absence of a priest, and learning from one another through conversation and questions.
The Gathering
The gathering marked the first of what we hope will become regular opportunities for continuing formation and connection among licensed lay ministers throughout the diocese.
Thank you to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for hosting the gathering and to Milner Seifert for sharing his knowledge and experience with participants.
